Saddle Brook, NJ – June 14, 2023 - Last week, GBR co-hosted the Second Annual DEI Real Estate Summit, a regional two-day diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) summit, designed to build curiosity while exploring understanding of DEI within personal and professional careers, while reviewing the correlation between fair housing and DEI, how DEI makes business sense, and the implicit biases that continue to plague the real estate industry.

The two-day summit included an afternoon of continuing education courses and a networking reception on Monday, June 5th, as well as a full day of speakers, discussion, and break-out sessions on Tuesday, June 6th.

Saddle Brook, NJ – June 6, 2023 - On Saturday, June 3^rd, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee joined Rebuild Together North Jersey (RTNJ) to participate in a Rebuilding Day event for a family in Ringwood, New Jersey. Greater Bergen REALTORS® partner, Rebuilding Together North Jersey, is part of a national network of nonprofits that provide low-income homeowners with critical repairs and modifications across Bergen and Passaic Counties. 

Saddle Brook, NJ – May 30, 2023 – The housing market in Bergen County, New Jersey, usually in full bloom mid-spring, has seen several changes in April. Earlier this season, the drop in mortgage interest rates was promising for potential buyers and sellers. Rates have fluctuated since, causing many buyers to put the brakes on purchasing homes.

Saddle Brook, NJ – May 2, 2023 – As the U.S. housing market continues to fluctuate, Bergen County, NJ is riding the same wave of changes. The month of March has since seen an uptick in sales and homebuyer activity, with most folks celebrating a victory in the drop in mortgage rates during the beginning of the spring season, where the majority of contracts were signed. Mortgage rates this month are back up to 7%, from 6% just a few weeks ago.

Saddle Brook, NJ – May 2, 2023 – Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR), REALTORS® Care Foundation (RCF) and Community Service Committee joined Rebuilding Together North Jersey (RTNJ) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 164 on April 29th, for National Rebuilding Day 2023. The group, with over 50 volunteers from the association, helped repair a home in New Milford, NJ, for single mother, Ms. Littrean and her two young children. A weekend prior, the team of dedicated members were on site at Ms. Littrean's home to begin demolition and prep-work for the April 29^th event.

Saddle Brook, NJ – April 5, 2023 – Recent changes in the housing market in Bergen County, NJ, in February 2023 have proven that seasonality doesn’t have a real effect in real estate this spring. Where business usually begins to bloom this time of year, buyers and sellers alike are struggling to gain the upper hand in the current market.

Saddle Brook, NJ – March 10, 2023- Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEI) returned to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Fort Lee, NJ, on February 28^th to commemorate Black History Month at their Annual Black History Month Celebration: History, Reflection, and Success. The evening highlighted the advancements that Black American homeowners and REALTORS® have made over the years through adversities within the real estate industry.
