Ridgefield, NJ – (February 20, 2019) The Greater Bergen Association of REALTORS® (GBR) and the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) Northern New Jersey chapter partnered together for the 3rd year in celebration of the Lunar New Year. This year both organizations celebrated the year of the pig in a grandeurs style. The event took place at the Canton Palace in Ridgefield, NJ. Guests where introduced and immersed in the culture as they were presented with the traditional 10 course Chinese meal ceremony.
Each platter that was served represented a symbol of good luck and good fortune for all during the year of the pig. In addition to the dinner presentation, guest also got the chance to experience the traditional lion dance. This is a traditional dance that has been embedded in China as well as other Asian countries as a cultural dance ceremony that brings about good fortune. The dance is generally performed during the Lunar New Year celebration.
