Waldwick, NJ – (April 6, 2020) – Members of Greater Bergen Realtors® Young Professionals Network (YPN) took an amazing initiative and hosted their first outdoor event on Tuesday, April 6that the Overpeck County Park in Leonia, NJ. The walks for charity event raised over $1,750.00. The money collected will be presented to the Opportunity Center in Fair Lawn, NJ. These funds will be of tremendous help to the organization, as it will help with some of their ongoing initiatives to support the development of the young adults receiving services from this organization.
The Opportunity Center was founded in 1965 by parents and civic organizations dedicated to improving the lives of adults with mental and physical challenges. This private, non-profit center is open all year with the goal of providing a life-enriching day program that currently serves about 25 clients with a broad range of disabilities including Autism, mental disabilities, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.
Patrizia Maccarrone, YPN Chair said, "2021 is our year! Last year, we adapted ourselves to the new normal through the web to keep things moving. This year, we are starting out small and hoping for the best. What better way to enjoy the start of spring than to walk for a good cause! We are walking for The Opportunity Center in Fair Lawn, NJ. We are proud to walk for this organization as we understand the importance and value it provides to our community.”
