Waldwick, NJ – (January 8, 2021) Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Community Service Committee partnered with Jersey Cares for their annual winter coat collection during the month of December 2020 and into the first week of January 2021. The committee collected over 600 coats – a record-breaking number since their partnership with the organizations.

For over 20 years Jersey Cares Coat Drive has mobilized the collection and distribution of thousands of "gently used" winter coats to men, women, children, and infants in need. Last year, Jersey Cares collected more than 20,000 coats throughout the state of New Jersey. Companies, churches, police stations, schools, and other organizations collect coats throughout the drive and deliver them to a central location, where volunteers then organize the donated coats and package them for pick-up. Our approved nonprofit partners then pick-up and distribute the coats to people in need.

2021 chair, Jeannine Soderlund said, “The annual Coat Drive spearheaded by the Community Service Committee (CSC) at Greater Bergen Realtors® was a huge success! More than ever, our REALTOR® family came together and donated gently used or new coats to our annual drive benefiting Jersey Cares Coat Drive. Although our REALTOR® members have not been able to come together for fundraising events physically, the CSC still wanted to impact the many who still need help and services during this pandemic. We are proud to be able to continually help and serve the organizations and communities we work in.”
