Waldwick, NJ – (August 9, 2021) - The Greater Bergen Realtors® Community Service Committee came together on Monday, August 9th for their 16th annual back-to-school backpack initiative. This is one of many key signature community events presented by the committee throughout the year to help local children get the essential school supplies they need to thrive during the coming school year.
The committee has a long-standing partnership with three local organizations in Bergen County, CFA, CAMP, and Social Services of Ridgewood. Each year, the community service committee on behalf of the association devote their time to coming together and assembling backpacks with school supplies to help the children who need it most. This year the committee assembled 200 backpacks – marking this to be one of being highest years in donations.
2021 Community Service Committee Chair, Jeanine Soderlund said, “I personally find this initiative to be so moving and rewarding, as we get the opportunity to help those children and parents who are in most need by providing them with the essential school supplies that will allow them to have something less to worry about and focus on getting their education uninterrupted. She continued, “ The organizations that we partner with have been great throughout these years, every year I am thrilled to connect with them as every year I receive back the same warmth and gratitude for the donations we provide.”
