Saddle Brook, NJ – October 17, 2022 - Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) hosted their Annual Membership Meeting and Affiliate Trade Show last week on Thursday, October 13th, 2022, at the Glenpointe Marriott in Teaneck, NJ. There were over 300 members in attendance, including GBR Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs, GBR Board of Directors and Executives, REALTORS® Care Foundation Trustees, and Affiliate partners. Those in attendance networked with fellow real estate and industry partners during the Affiliate Trade Show. The tradeshow included a range of industry professionals: NJ Lenders, Legacy Mortgage Group, Crown Home Mortgage, Trustco Bank, Think Mortgage, Garden State Mortgage, MLB Residential Lending, Citi Bank, JCM LLC, Mortgage Unlimited, Finance of America, PRMG, Maria Gesualdi, Esq., and US Bank.
The Annual Meeting was an opportunity for members to connect, network and get the latest industry updates from Greater Bergen REALTORS®, New Jersey REALTORS®, and the National Association of REALTORS®. During the meeting, members voted on fundamental motions for the upcoming calendar year. This included the 2023 budget and nominating slate for the GBR 2023 Board of Directors.
Additionally, Greater Bergen REALTORS® announced the winners of their local association awards. The local association 2022 REALTOR® of the Year award was presented to Charles Oppler, of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s, for exemplifying the “REALTOR® Spirit” throughout his many years in the industry. The 2022 Good Neighbor Award recipient was Zachary Lisella of Coldwell Banker, for his ongoing dedication to his community through his volunteerism. GBR will be presenting a one-thousand-dollar donation to the Allendale/Saddle River Rotary Club on behalf of Zachary Lisella.
Keynote speaker, Michelle “Mace” Curran, former United States Air Force Pilot, wowed the membership with her inspirational journey as a Thunderbird pilot. During her “Upside Down Dreams” presentation, Michelle shared some of her most memorable experiences in her career and how professionalism, dedication, tenacity, and grit allowed her to pursue excellence in her career and in life.
President-Elect, Margaret Ajamian, and Board of Director, Nicola Esposito announced the official launch of the Leadership Academy. The Leadership Academy will provide the tools necessary to prepare future leaders in the real estate industry in Northern New Jersey. “Member involvement at GBR not only keeps GBR as the best association in New Jersey, but makes you part of something bigger,” said Robert Funabashi, “and when you are a part of something bigger, you do better as a REALTOR®.” The deadline to apply to the Leadership Academy is November 11th, 2022.
