Saddle Brook, NJ – March 6, 2023 - Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Young Professionals Network (YPN) raised over $3,150 for Kids Against Hunger, a 501-c3 non-profit humanitarian organization, at their annual Bowl for Charity event on February 15, at Bowlero in Fair Lawn, NJ. YPN has been hosting their charity bowling events since 2019, raising over $7,000 to date for non-profit organizations throughout Northern NJ.
Greater Bergen REALTORS®, Young Professionals Network is comprised of real estate professionals who want to enhance their careers and communities via networking, education, and community service. 2023 YPN Chair, Katayoun Ketabi stated “Thanks to all our members, this event was one the largest YPN events GBR has ever had. Without all of you, this would have never happened. This is just the beginning of 2023, we have a lot more in store to help our communities.”
Kids Against Hunger, whose mission is to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry, provides fully nutritious food to impoverished children, individuals, and families around the world and around the corner. Since 2015, Kids Against Hunger has packaged and distributed over 980,000 meals both locally and nationally.
Proceeds from the Bowl for Charity event have been used to facilitate the packaging event of over 10,000 meals for Turkey, Syria, and Africa.
Due to the recent, devastating earthquake that impacted Turkey and Syria, Kids Against Hunger and YPN joined forces to distribute 5,000 meals directly overseas to aid the two countries. Additionally, 5,000 meals will be distributed to Africa to aid those in need.
2022 National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Good Neighbor Award Winner and Executive Director of Kids Against Hunger, Philadelphia, Heather Griesser LaPierre, joined the YPN committee at GBR headquarters this week to package food items that will then be delivered to those in need. Kids Against Hunger’s life-saving meals have been scientifically developed over the course of 3 years, containing 21 vitamins and minerals.
“Just one meal consumed by a child reverses the effects of starvation.” Says Heather Griesser LaPierre, “I am also a full-time Realtor and was looking to give back to the community. Hunger is what struck me the most. Kids die every day simply because they do not have enough to eat. I started this journey, because I thought I could help solve hunger by selling real estate.
