Saddle Brook, NJ - June 13, 2023 - Last week, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) hosted their annual Midyear Meeting and Affiliate Trade Show at the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe, for over 300 association members. During the gourmet brunch buffet, members were able to network over coffee and meet some of GBR's affiliate industry partners during the Trade Show. A special thank you to Lending One, Columbia Bank, Bond Street Mortgage, Think Mortgage, Main Street Title, MLB Residential Lending, Real Safe Title, Garcia Law, Curbello Law, Citi Bank, CIBM Mortgage, NJ Lenders Corp., Joel Furst Law, and First Jersey Title Services.
Chief Operating Officer, Jorge Ledesma, shared opening remarks with members before introducing 2023 President, Margaret Ajamian. During her welcome message, Ajamian provided association updates from GBR, including upcoming committee events, news regarding education news, events, and information on the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), which aims to strengthen homeownership and advocacy for the real estate industry. She also provided the audience with a report on GBR's non-profit organization, the REALTORS® Care Foundation, who is hosting their annual charity Golf & Tennis Outing (with Pickleball - new this year) on September 18.
During the Midyear Meeting, openings for two Greater Bergen REALTORS® association awards, the REALTOR® Of The Year Award and the Good Neighbor Award were announced. Additionally, applications for the 2024 Board of Directors launched after the Midyear Meeting. All award applications can be accessed through GBR's website.
GBR 2023 Vice President, Nicola Esposito, joined the president on stage to warmly introduce the 12 graduates of the GBR and NJMLS Leadership Academy, Patricia Almodovar, Roberto Alvarez, Elisa Cho, Kristi Davida, Patricia Reynolds Dephillips, Christian Di Stasio, Diana Dine-Matos, Steven Finkelstein, Kathy Ketabi, Ryan O'Connor, Andre Porter, and Diane Rothman. The graduates of the Leadership Academy's inaugural semester received their diplomas on stage, with cheers from the audience.
The Midyear Meeting culminated with the highly anticipated and regarded keynote speaker, the Senior Economist and Director of Real Estate Research at the National Association of REALTORS®, Nadia Evangelou. With a research report focused on the effect of economic, demographic, and industry conditions on the current state and outlook of the residential and commercial real estate markets, Ms. Evangelou provided great insight to current market updates facing GBR members working in Bergen County, NJ metro area.
