Saddle Brook, NJ – July 28, 2023 –During their month-long campaign, the Back-To-School Backpack-A-Thon, the Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Community Service Committee alongside the GBR REALTORS® Care Foundation, collected school supplies and classroom essentials at GBR headquarters and several participating GBR brokerage locations in Bergen County.

Last week, a team of dedicated volunteer members participated in the successful packing event of 300 backpacks, which were then distributed to four local non-profit organizations who partnered with the committee for the cause.

This year for the first time, the Backpack-A-Thon was a rewarding opportunity for GBR REALTOR® members to visit the non-profit organizations, Coalition To House The Homeless, Never Alone Again, Camp YDP, and the Social Service Association, where they personally handed the backpacks to the individual families and children in need.

"As a dedicated philanthropist, I recognize the transformative power of direct giving. This is why it was imperative for us to personally hand out the 300 backpacks to the children, so we could witness the sheer delight in their eyes," said Community Service Committee Chair, Gina Hernandez-Navarro, "I am extremely grateful to all our generous donors and volunteers."
