Saddle Brook, New Jersey – October 4, 2023 – This September, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) committees hosted several networking and educational events at GBR headquarters, and in the local community to benefit association members.
On September 21st, The Professional Development Committee hosted their special event, “The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, And the Ridiculous” at GBR headquarters. On September 26th, the Advocacy and Communications Committee held a special inaugural event at GBR headquarters, where they invited new members of the association and committee leaders to the private “New Member Happy Hour Mixer”. The mission of the Advocacy and Communications Committee is to develop and implement programs that promote the profession of the REALTOR to the public; highlighting the value that REALTORS bring to the real estate transaction and homeownership rights. The committee has seen the positive impact that early involvement in the association can have on a new agents; at the New Member Mixer, GBR committee leaders presented their committee missions, community involvement, and how participation is critical for career advancement to new agents. New members of all ages, coming from different previous careers, had the distinct opportunity to network with committee leaders and GBR Board Directors in a private one-on-one setting.
On September 28th, The Young Professionals Network (YPN) invited members to an exclusive happy hour in the speak-easy style lounge at the modern luxury apartments, Ivy & Green, in Hackensack, NJ for “YPN’s Sunset At Ivy & Green”, taking private tours of the apartment property with owners of Hornrock Properties. Attendees were among the first to hear about the company’s exciting future building endeavors throughout Bergen County. All proceeds from the event, and all YPN events throughout the year, have gone toward their mission to aid non-profit organization, Kids Against Hunger®, who helps pack and distribute meals to feed impoverished children locally and throughout the world. YPN will be hosting their second annual Halloween Bash on October 26th, where combined proceeds from both events will afford them the opportunity to pack 40,000 meals for the cause. The Young Professionals Network provides an opportunity for young-at-heart real estate professionals to enhance their career via networking, education, and community service.
