Saddle Brook, NJ – January 9, 2024 - Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Community Service Committee partnered with Jersey Cares for the 2023 Annual Winter Coat Drive, a collection of over 600 new and gently used winter coats of all sizes for local communities throughout the months of November and December.
This year, thanks to participating GBR brokerage offices, Berkshire Hathaway Home Service, Hasbrouck Heights; Christie’s International Real Estate Group, Ridgewood; Coldwell Banker, Allendale; Corcoran Infinity Properties, Cresskill and Rivervale; Keller Williams Town Life, Tenafly; Liberty 100 Realty, Waldwick and Re/Max Home Signatures, Closter, the committee collected over 600 coats – their second year reaching a record-breaking number of donations since their partnership with the organization.
For over 20 years Jersey Cares Coat Drive has mobilized the collection and distribution of thousands of "gently used" winter coats to men, women, children, and infants in need. Companies, churches, police stations, schools, and other organizations collect coats throughout the drive and deliver them to a central location, where volunteers then organize the donated coats and package them for pick-up.
Long-time dedicated member of the Community Service Committee, GBR Board of Director, Bonnie Borghi, utilized her Corcoran Infinity Properties, Rivervale office to collect and personally distribute 300 coats for the drive. “We organize this drive every year with one simple goal in mind - keeping people warm,” says Bonnie. “When people volunteer their time and efforts, we can see real positive impacts in our communities, and that makes all the difference.” she added. The Annual Coat Drive is a cause near to her heart and is a testament to the collective strength of Greater Bergen REALTORS® community outreach.
