Saddle Brook, NJ – June 27, 2024 – Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Health, Wellness, Safety Council (HWSC) proudly hosted their inaugural Health Expo 2024 in conjunction with Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) at GBR headquarters in Saddle Brook, NJ on June 24, 2024, as a free exclusive member benefit to over 110 association members, thanks to exclusive sponsor, Realtor.com.
Health Expo 2024 was an initiative founded by GBR’s Health Wellness Safety Council, whose mission is to address the evolving landscape of real estate, ensuring that the well-being, both physical and mental, of REALTORS® and their safety remain paramount in every facet of the business. Greater Bergen REALTORS® continues to focus on providing members with exclusive benefits, resources, and education.
The Health Expo was an opportunity for members to take advantage of multiple wellness screenings, including blood pressure, glucose, BMI, cholesterol, pulse, and stroke risk assessments, as well as the HMH’s Health Awareness Regional Program’s American Heart Association (AHA) Hands-Only CPR and early heart attack care education orientation, all as a free benefit to their GBR membership. Seventy-five participants received over 487 wellness screenings, as well as AHA Family & Friends CPR certificates of participation were awarded to 37 participants.
During the afternoon, members interacted with Hackensack Meridian Health Community Outreach and Engagement Team professionals at the 10 free HMH health stations: The Molly Center For Diabetes Education and Management; The Center for Weight Loss and Metabolic Health; The Breast Center, The Sleep Center, The Trauma Center at Hackensack University Medical Center; Hackensack Meridian Fitness and Wellness Center; John Theurer Cancer Center; Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health; The QUIT Smoking Cessation Center; and Behavioral Health Services.

This new collaboration empowers GBR members to prioritize their health and live healthier lifestyles, as well as provide access to high quality and comprehensive services,” stated Florey Cruz-Cerpa, HMH Regional Director-North Community Outreach & Engagement. “Moving into a new community can also be scary sometimes. Having a REALTOR® who truly understands this and can provide the resources for your healthcare needs in this new community to make this new transition complete.”
Members also had the opportunity to speak with Julianne Gallo, MS, RDN from Inserra ShopRite, Lodi, NJ, and Lynette Hem-Lee, RDN, Inserra ShopRite, New Milford, NJ. Nutritious snacks and samples were generously provided by Inserra Supermarkets Inc. Winners of the hourly raffles received Angioscreen tests valued at $200, three-day passes and one-month memberships to Hackensack Meridian Fitness and Wellness Center, in addition to other HMH health station giveaways.
