Saddle Brook, NJ - October 15, 2024 - On October 10th, the Greater Bergen REALTORS® Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee, Young Professionals Network (YPN), and Global Business Council came together for a vibrant Hispanic Heritage Celebration titled "Viva La Casa" at La Havana 59 in Moonachie, NJ. The event, which celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with food, music, and storytelling, attracted over 100 REALTORS® eager to engage in discussions on advancing homeownership and promoting DEI within the real estate industry.
Keynote speakers included DEI Vice Chair Marion Sasson-Albornoz and YPN Chair Katayoun Ketabi, who focused on the critical topic of Hispanic homeownership. Global Business Council Chair Dora Omana highlighted local case studies with personal assessments, effective strategies, and success stories. Committee leaders collectively stated, "We are grateful to work alongside such an esteemed group of professionals, and are proud of the success of such an important and unifying event. We are humbled by the support of all committee members within our association, and the ongoing collaboration that makes this annual event more powerful each year."
Earlier in the day, Omana conducted a complimentary continuing education class, "Helping Hispanic Immigrants with The Purchase Process," attended by more than 40 students, providing them with 3 core credits.
The collaboration among the DEI, YPN, and Global Business Council offered attendees unique insights into the challenges and opportunities in supporting Hispanic communities in real estate.
