Saddle Brook, NJ - December 17, 2024 - The Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Global Business Council (GBC) has retained the 2024 DIAMOND Status-Global Achievement Program Award by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) through 2026.
This year, under the leadership of Chair Dora Omana, Vice Chair Enkelana Drizaj, and Board Liaison Alireza Memar, the GBC has focused on retaining its legacy of leadership in global initiatives within the tri-state area. The goal was to reinforce our position as the primary resource for international real estate expertise.
A key highlight has been the renewed emphasis on the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation. This has led to revitalized networking opportunities, fostering stronger professional connections and collaborative projects among our members. Additionally, GBC launched inbound and outbound trade missions aimed at connecting members with international markets, with the signing of an MOU in India serving as a prime example of our commitment to expanding global opportunities. GBC’s active participation at local events and national forums has further solidified our role in global real estate.
GBC organized key events, including a celebration of Black History Month with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, an Asian Lunar New Year celebration with the Asian Real Estate Association Of America (AREAA), and a major forum titled "Bridging Borders in Real Estate," featuring industry experts from the National Association of REALTORS®. GBC’s presence at national events in Washington D.C. showcased our initiatives and influence, while we also engaged members in a Consulate Liaison Program to gather insights on international real estate activities.
“At Greater Bergen REALTORS®, we believe in the future of global real estate. Our Diamond Status as the only association in the tri-state area to achieve this honor reflects our unwavering commitment to embracing a diverse mosaic of cultures and languages," states 2024 Chair Dora Omana. "From strong ties with Korea, Panama, Costa Rica, and now India, we understand that being bilingual or bicultural is no longer enough. The world demands we become global citizens, global REALTORS®, and, ultimately, citizens of the world. At GBR, we have embraced globalism in every aspect of our industry, shaping a future where borders are bridges, not barriers.”
