Englewood, NJ — September 11, 2025 — On September 11, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Community Outreach Committee proudly joined the Center for Food Action (CFA) during their annual 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Englewood. Volunteers came together to assemble 2,000 snack packs for local children at risk of food insecurity.
The day of service also coincided with Hunger Action Month, making the effort especially meaningful as CFA marks thirteen years of service through this annual initiative. The
snack packs will be distributed in the community to help improve the lives of children in
our community, strengthening families, and creating civic engagement through service
and volunteers.
"Children suffering from food insecurity experience a consistent lack of adequate food, impacting their health, learning, and social emotional development. Fortunately, we have the Center for Food Action who is making a measurable difference in the lives of struggling families. In honor of CFA 9/11 Day of Service, the GBR Community Outreach Committee was pleased to assist in packing 2,000 weekend snack packs for students in need," said Hilda Williams, GBR Community Outreach Committee, Chair.
This year’s event was chaired by Jen Maxfield, Emmy® Award-winning correspondent for NBC 4 New York, who joined volunteers in addressing the importance of service, civic engagement, and community partnerships.
By joining CFA in their initiative, GBR continues supporting our mission of giving back to the community where we live and work.
