Earlier this season, the drop in mortgage interest rates was promising for potential buyers and sellers. Rates have fluctuated since, causing many buyers to put the brakes on purchasing homes.

Saddle Brook, NJ – May 15, 2023 – Last week, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) members travelled to Washington D.C. for the 2023 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings, from May 6-11th. The six day stretch of Legislative Meetings was an opportunity for REALTORS®, lawmakers, and industry leaders across the country to participate in critical public policy conversations to advance the real estate industry.
Greater Bergen REALTORS®, REALTORS® Care Foundation & Community Service Committee Join Forces with Rebuilding Together North Jersey on National Rebuilding Day 2023
Saddle Brook, NJ – May 2, 2023 – Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR), REALTORS® Care Foundation (RCF) and Community Service Committee joined Rebuilding Together North Jersey (RTNJ) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 164 on April 29th, for National Rebuilding Day 2023. The group, with over 50 volunteers from the association, helped repair a home in New Milford, NJ, for single mother, Ms. Littrean and her two young children. A weekend prior, the team of dedicated members were on site at Ms. Littrean's home to begin demolition and prep-work for the April 29th event.
Existing Home Sales Up For The First Time in 12 Months
Saddle Brook, NJ – May 2, 2023 – As the U.S. housing market continues to fluctuate, Bergen County, NJ is riding the same wave of changes. The month of March has since seen an uptick in sales and homebuyer activity, with most folks celebrating a victory in the drop in mortgage rates during the beginning of the spring season, where the majority of contracts were signed. Mortgage rates this month are back up to 7%, from 6% just a few weeks ago.
