Saddle Brook, NJ - December 17, 2024 - The Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Global Business Council (GBC) has retained the 2024 DIAMOND Status-Global Achievement Program Award by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) through 2026.
This year, under the leadership of Chair Dora Omana, Vice Chair Enkelana Drizaj, and Board Liaison Alireza Memar, the GBC has focused on retaining its legacy of leadership in global initiatives within the tri-state area. The goal was to reinforce our position as the primary resource for international real estate expertise.
Housing Demand Continues To Put Upward Pressure On Sales Prices
Saddle Brook, NJ – September 24, 2024 - U.S. existing-home sales increased for the first time in 5 months, as lower mortgage rates and rising supply helped boost market activity. According to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), sales of previously owned homes rose 1.3% month-over-month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.95 million units, exceeding economists’ expectations and ending the downward trend of recent months.

Total Housing Inventory Increased Month-Over-Month Mid-Summer
Saddle Brook, NJ – August 22, 2024 –U.S. existing home sales fell 5.4% month-over-month and 5.4% year-over-year to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.89 million units, with monthly sales down in all four regions, according to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Higher mortgage rates, along with rising sales prices, have kept many prospective buyers on the sidelines, despite more home choices and less competition for those homes.

Existing-Home Sales Declined For The Third Consecutive Month With Higher Mortgage Rates And Rising Sales Prices
Saddle Brook, NJ – July 24, 2024 – U.S. existing-home sales declined for the third consecutive month, as higher mortgage rates and rising sales prices hindered market activity during what has traditionally been one of the busiest months of the year. According to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), sales of previously owned homes dipped 0.7% month-over-month and 2.8% year-over-year, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.11 million units.

Saddle Brook, NJ – July 22, 2024 – Last week, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) non-profit organization, the REALTORS® Care Foundation (RCF) participated in Dining Out Jersey Foodie Expo, at The Terrace at Biagio’s. The 2024 Foodie Expo was a full evening of gourmet food and elevated drinks from the chefs, mixologists, and restaurant owners of the best restaurants in northern New Jersey. The REALTORS® Care Foundation participated in the event by raising awareness of the organization’s mission that REALTORS® do more than sell houses within our local communities, they participate and support community initiatives through fundraising with a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle.
Demand Continues To Outpace Supply With Properties Selling Quickly
Saddle Brook, NJ – May 23, 2024 – U.S. existing-home sales recently fell from a one-year high, dropping 4.3% month over-month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.19 million, according to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), as higher interest rates and rising sales prices continue to keep some prospective buyers on the sidelines. Average 30-year mortgage rates have topped 7% in recent weeks, while the median existing-home sales price hit $393,500 as of last measure, a 4.8% increase from the previous month, according to NAR.
"Based on the monthly report in our area, home prices are still going up while the number of homes for sale are going down. This means we are still in seller's market,” states Greater Bergen REALTORS® 2024 Immediate Past President, Alireza Memar.
