Saddle Brook, NJ - May 13, 2024 - Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Executive leadership team, Board of Directors, and association committee leaders and members attended the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) 2024 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings in Washington D.C. on May 4-9, 2024.  The five-day stretch of Legislative Meetings was an opportunity for over 9,000 REALTORS®, lawmakers, and industry leaders across the country to participate in critical public policy conversations to advance the real estate industry.

Saddle Brook, NJ - April 23, 2024 -  On April 17, 2024, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Young Professionals Network (YPN) and the Community Service Committee co-hosted Top Producers Roundtable: Collaboration Over Competition for over 70 members at GBR headquarters. The special program, moderated by 2024 YPN Chair, Kathy Ketabi and 2024 Community Service Committee Chair, Nataly Mendez, featured a panel discussion among six top-selling REALTORS® within the industry.

Saddle Brook, NJ – January 24, 2024- U.S. existing-home sales rose from a 13-year low, climbing 0.8% from the previous month and breaking a five-month streak in which sales declined, according to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Despite the increase, sales were down 7.3% compared to the same period last year, as affordability challenges continue to hinder prospective buyers. Most of this period’s closed sales went under contract in October, when mortgage rates were at a two-decade high. With rates having dropped more than a full percentage point since then, existing-home sales may continue to pick up in the months ahead.

Saddle Brook, NJ – December 8, 2023 – This week, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Executive leadership team attended the New Jersey REALTORS® Award Ceremony at the 2023 REALTORS® Triple Play Convention and Trade Expo, in Atlantic City, NJ. GBR’s Immediate Past President, Robert Funabashi was honored at the ceremony, receiving the local real estate association REALTOR® of The Year Award on behalf of Greater Bergen REALTORS®. The session also honored Communications award winners, Quarter Century Club recipients, and REALTOR® Emeritus members.

Saddle Brook, NJ – October 26, 2023 – Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) hosted their Annual Membership Meeting and Affiliate Tradeshow on Friday, October 20^th for 400 attendees at the Glenpointe Marriott in Teaneck, NJ. The free membership event was an opportunity for association members to network with fellow real estate and industry partners at the Affiliate Trade Show, hosted by Curbelo Law, Bond Street Mortgage, Campanella Law Office LLC, Big Centric Appliances, Think Mortgage, LCD Commercial Lending, Prestige Cleaning Service of Bergen County, Kelly Title Group, Jiffy Junk, New Jersey Lenders Corp. Saddle Brook, NJ – August 28, 2023 – Affordability constraints have continued to limit homebuying activity this summer, with existing-home sales falling 3.3% month-over-month nationwide as of last measure, according to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).

Mortgage rates have approached 7% in recent months, leading many prospective buyers to put their home purchase plans temporarily on hold. But higher rates have also kept many existing homeowners from listing their homes for fear of giving up the low-rate mortgages they locked in a few years ago, when rates were significantly lower.
