Saddle Brook, NJ – June 13, 2024 - The 2024 DEI Real Estate Summit, a two-day regional Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion summit designed to build curiosity and inclusive practices among members of the real estate industry, was held on June 3-4, 2024, at Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott.

The DEI Real Estate Summit is collaboration between the National Association of REALTORS®, New Jersey REALTORS®, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR), Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS®, New York State Association of REALTORS®, North Central Jersey Association of REALTORS®, and Greater Rochester Association of REALTORS®.

Encouraging attendance at such conferences is essential for fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within our industry,” stated GBR Board Director, Dalia Flores. “The DEI Summit provided a platform for REALTORS® to exchange perspectives, establish a common ground, and ensure that every individual is truly recognized and valued.”

Saddle Brook, NJ - March 26, 2024 - Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Committee celebrated Women's History Month with their second annual Women's History Month: REALTORS® Across All Generations at GBR headquarters last week. After an elegant champagne toast to all the hardworking and successful women in the room, the event began with a few shared words from 2024 DEI Committee Chair, Andre Porter.

"I am inspired by the wonderful women around me in the real estate world, and what better way to honor Women's History Month than to celebrate and empower the women of all generations and backgrounds who make up the majority of this industry we work in," stated Porter.

Saddle Brook, New Jersey – October 27, 2023 – With Leadership of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) North NJ in attendance, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee, in conjunction with the Global Business Council committee, co-hosted their annual Hispanic Heritage month salute, Fiesta Latina: Celebrating Homeownership in Hispanic Heritage Month on October 25th at La Havana 59 in Moonachie, New Jersey.

In extension of Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15-October 15, GBR hosted a special continuing education class on October 25th that was complimentary to over 80 members who gained three “CORE” continuing education credits toward their real estate education requirements. The bilingual, hybrid class, Helping Hispanic Immigrants with The Purchasing Process, was taught by instructor and 2023 DEI committee Chair, Dora Omana. The class provided members with insight into working with Hispanic immigrant clients throughout a real estate transaction, and highlighted the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the real estate industry.

Saddle Brook, NJ – July 3, 2023 - Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee hosted Pride Month Celebration: Lifting LGBTQIA+ Voices In Real Estate at GBR headquarters in Saddle Brook last week, on June 28. The event was an opportunity for members to hear from keynote speakers Robert White, Immediate Past President of New Jersey REALTORS® (NJR), and Christian Fuscarino, Executive Director of Garden State Equality.

Saddle Brook, NJ – June 14, 2023 - Last week, GBR co-hosted the Second Annual DEI Real Estate Summit, a regional two-day diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) summit, designed to build curiosity while exploring understanding of DEI within personal and professional careers, while reviewing the correlation between fair housing and DEI, how DEI makes business sense, and the implicit biases that continue to plague the real estate industry.

The two-day summit included an afternoon of continuing education courses and a networking reception on Monday, June 5th, as well as a full day of speakers, discussion, and break-out sessions on Tuesday, June 6th.

Saddle Brook, NJ – June 6, 2023 - On Saturday, June 3^rd, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee joined Rebuild Together North Jersey (RTNJ) to participate in a Rebuilding Day event for a family in Ringwood, New Jersey. Greater Bergen REALTORS® partner, Rebuilding Together North Jersey, is part of a national network of nonprofits that provide low-income homeowners with critical repairs and modifications across Bergen and Passaic Counties. 

Saddle Brook, NJ – March 10, 2023- Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEI) returned to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Fort Lee, NJ, on February 28^th to commemorate Black History Month at their Annual Black History Month Celebration: History, Reflection, and Success. The evening highlighted the advancements that Black American homeowners and REALTORS® have made over the years through adversities within the real estate industry.
