Greater Bergen Realtors® Contributes to New Jersey Cares Annual Coat Drive

Approximately Five Hundred Coats Collected at 12 Different Sites in Bergen County

Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) Community Service Committee partnered with Jersey Cares for their recently completed annual winter coat drive. This year, the committee donated approximately five hundred gently used coats from 12 collection sites in Bergen County, this holiday season.

“Each coat donation makes an enormous difference in someone’s life, said Hilda Williams, 2022 committee chair. When the temperatures drop, it’s even more important to make sure the individuals and families can be assured that they will have a warm coat while waiting for a school bus or heading to work.  We are thrilled to be able to continue to help and serve the organizations and communities we work in.”

For the past 25 years, The Jersey Cares Coat Drive has mobilized the collection and distribution of thousands of "gently used" winter coats to men, women, children, and infants in need. Last year, Jersey Cares collected more than 20,000 coats throughout the state of New Jersey. Companies, churches, police stations, schools and other organizations collect coats throughout the drive and deliver them to a central location, where volunteers then organize the donated coats and package them for pick-up. Approved nonprofit partners then pick-up and distribute the coats to people in need.
